Watchmaking
Transparent showcase clock.
Large showcase clock with a transparent face, no visible central hand pivot, peripheral disc drive and atomic-time synchronization.
#2012–2013#Watchmaking#Mechatronics

Project overview
Developed for a watch retailer’s window in Geneva, the clock preserves a clear view through its face without a visible hand pivot at the center. DOMTEKNIKA developed the complete electrical and mechanical concept using transparent rotating discs driven at their periphery, integrated atomic-clock synchronization, coordinated the design study and built a functional prototype with injection-molded gear segments.
What we handled
- Complete electrical and mechanical concept for a large transparent showcase clock.
- Transparent discs driven from the periphery to eliminate a visible central hand pivot.
- Atomic-clock connection for automatic time synchronization.
- Design-study coordination and functional prototype with injection-molded gear segments.
