Project overview
In 2010–2011, DOMTEKNIKA developed new kitesurf safety releases for a client whose existing systems did not meet design, cost and reliability expectations. These devices allow the rider to release the kite’s pull in strong winds, reducing the risk of being lifted and injured. Development of the primary and secondary injection-moulded polymer releases focused on the force required for activation.
What we handled
- Design and drawing of the primary and secondary release components.
- Mechanical and rheological calculations for injection-moulded parts.
- Study of release force and production of prototypes.
- Supervision of injection moulding for the first production runs.
